ST. LOUIS (AP) -- The St. Louis Rams have traded former first-round draft pick Tye Hill to Atlanta in exchange for an undisclosed draft pick.
Rams general manager Billy Devaney announced the trade Tuesday.
Hill was the 15th overall pick in 2006. The cornerback missed the final eight games of the 2007 season with a broken bone in his back. Last season, a knee injury forced him to miss the final 12 games.
Meanwhile, the Rams on Tuesday cut their 2006 second-round pick, tight end Joe Klopfenstein. In three seasons, Klopfenstein had 33 catches for 386 yards and two touchdowns.
Also released were three undrafted rookies, center Daniel Sanders, cornerback Marcus Brown and wide receiver Jarrett Byers. Wide receiver Brooks Foster, a fifth-round draft pick out of North Carolina, was placed on the injured reserve list.
