KSDK -- The St. Louis University men's soccer team bested Missouri State in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament Thursday night.

James Dice put SLU up 1-0 early on with a nice deflection goal.

The game got physical later on. The Billikens' Stephen Bortolon was taken down in the box and referees awarded SLU a penalty kick. Chaminade graduate Mike Roach converted the penalty to give SLU a 2-0 lead.

Missouri State got one goal on the board but could not complete the comeback.

The Billikens will play Tulsa on Sunday in round two of the tournament. That game will take place in Oklahoma.
