KSDK -- The Baseball Writers of America will name the winner of the National League's Most Valuable Player of the Year award today.

Cardinal slugger Albert Pujols has won the award two times and was favored to win it again. If he wins it, he would join an elite group of players. Only nine other players have won it three times, including former Cardinal Stan Musial.

Hall of Fame writer Rick Hummel, of the St. Louis-Post Dispatch, joined NewsChannel 5's Mike Garrity to talk about the announcement.
