Pharrell Williams has earned a reputation as a hit maker, Robin Thicke's Blurred Lines and Daft Punk's Get Lucky into the music stratosphere. Now let's see if his Midas touch extends to himself.

His new album, GIRL, drops on March 4 and will feature Happy, off the Despicable Me soundtrack. The song, which is the highest charting Oscar-nominated song since Eminem's 2002 song Lose Yourself, currently sits at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

"When Columbia Records presented me with the opportunity to make an album, three things came to mind," Pharrell says in a statement. "One was the sense of overwhelming honor that I felt when I realized that they were interested in partnering with me on the album that I had always dreamt of making. Two, it would have to feel festive and urgent. And three, I instantly knew it would be calledG I R L. I hope you like it."

He's set to play Happy at the Brit Awards in London as well as the Oscar awards.
