"I've been on Days of Our Lives for 21 years. I'm celebrating my 21st year," says Alison Sweeneyon Tuesday's Ellen DeGeneres show. "And I decided that it's going to be my last year with the show."
Sweeney, who is also the host of The Biggest Loser, drops that big soap opera announcement to Ellen today.
She has been on the show since she was 16, she says, getting emotional. And has been doing both shows for the last seven years.
What made her decide to quit?
"I just have, you know, worked so much and my daughter (Megan) just turned 5 and my son (Benjamin) is 9 and I just want to be with them and enjoy my last year. I'm going to be on Days all this year," says Sweeney.
As for how she'd like her character, Sami Brady, to be written out, she says, "I don't know! I kind of want to…I mean it would be awesome to have some kind of happy ending, but then I also think Sami probably deserves some sort of very twisted likeBreaking Bad ending."
