Javier Mendoza stopped by the Show Me St. Louis studio today to perform and to talk about his concert on June 25 at the Missouri Botanical Gardens.

His concert is part of the Whitaker Music Festival. The music festival started June 4th and runs through August 6th. Marsha Evans & the Coalition performs tomorrow night from 7:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. For more information about the concert series check out the Whitaker Musical Festival website.

Javier is releasing his commemorative CD at the concert. The CD features acoustic versions of songs from his 10 full length studio albums.

Although Javier no longer lives in St. Louis, he frequently visits because his friends are here. And the restaurant he can't do without? Charlie Gitto's On the Hill. Javier's recommendation? The gumbo shrimp.
