ST. LOUIS - Two furniture business have teamed up to work under one roof. They're both taking something old and making it new.
"Any furniture that is old or sad or needs some love....we take and bring it some new life," explained Nicole Genz, Rescued Furnishings.
"We've done everything from chests to dressers," said Brandt Genz, Rescued Furnishings.
Brandt and Nicole Genz started their business Rescued Furnishings last year. The couple finds old furniture and turns them into new pieces. They just found the perfect space to set up shop, a warehouse in Kirkwood they now share with the owner of Reclaim Renew Barry Kraft.
"We usually use old barn wood. We tear down barns all over the state into Illinois, Iowa, Indiana. We take the wood from those barns and turn it into furniture," explained Barry Kraft, Reclaim Renew.
These are two separate business, but it makes sense they're working side by side.
"They just really match up well with what we do," said Kraft.
While Barry uses old barn wood for his custom designs, Nicole and Brandt use old furniture to create statement pieces.
