(KSDK) – With prom season starting to get on the brain of many teenage girls, so does the all important prom dress.

Sometimes you can't afford that perfect prom dress, so what do you do?

The Cinderella Project has helped area girls meet their prom dreams by selling donated gowns for a low rate. The project has collected more than 1,000 gowns throughout the years and helped more than 3,000 girls, according to its website.

Amber Westerson stopped by Show Me St. Louis to discuss the project even more.

Dresses will be collected through February, and the sale will take place March 1.
