The August issue of St. Louis Magazine highlights the Best Doctors in St. Louis. Buried within the largest issue of the year features a unique way of looking at Neighborhood Restaurants – 101 of them to be exact.
Among the highlights:
· Anatomy of a Neighborhood Restaurant – We took an in-depth look at what really makes a great neighborhood restaurant – from the trophies to the classic swivel stools. The food? Well, that's what makes it really shine.
· All Around Tower Grove Park: There is no shortage of dining spots within blocks of this South City neighborhood park. One of the duos we really like is The Dam and Amsterdam Tavern located right next door to each other. The Dam is the "restaurant" with top-notch sandwiches and delivers to it's next door neighbor the "bar" Amsterdam Tavern. · Pick a Pie: We broke down our favorite neighborhood pizza joints one of which is The Daily Bread Bakery & Café located in Des Peres. While they boast a plethora of pastries, soups, sandwiches and salads, it's their hearth-baked pizza that really caught our eye. Making this the perfect spot to buy two kinds of pie!
