ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - This weekend, green will be out in full force ahead of St. Patrick's Day parades, runs and festivities, and that also includes cold, hard cash.

There's a pot o' gold in store for a lot of communities that host a St. Patrick's Day Parade.

In Belleville, it's all depending on the weather but organizers expect 15,000 people to attend their parade at 11 a.m. on Saturday. The economic impact is expected to be $500,000.

It gets even bigger in Cottleville where they think 50,000 people will come out for the parade in the nice weather tomorrow. That parade starts at noon. The economic impact is expected to be $1 million.

In downtown St. Louis, parade organizers expect anywhere from 300,000 to 350,000 people to attend the parade. Organizers say the economic impact is significant and all of the hotels fill up.
