ST. LOUIS – After 34 years at NewsChannel 5, anchor Jennifer Blome will retire and leave a number of treasured memories.

Jennifer said one of her favorite opportunities was interviewing actress Glenn Close in 2010. She came to St. Louis to raise awareness of mental illness and promote her charity, "Bring Change to Mind." Watch the video above for the memory.

One of her favorite stories involved a non-profit organization called Senior Connections, which is now a part of Lutheran Senior Services. The organization organizes volunteers to visit a senior citizen once a week for an hour for one year.

Another of her favorite stories was the dog treadmill. Although Nestle Purina loaned us this treadmill called Jog-A-D0g, you can train your dog to walk on a human treadmill, and it's great for winters like the one we just got through.
