ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - The first lady mail-carrier in St. Louis, Barbara Gleason, has now been on the job for several weeks.

NewsChannel 5 checked with her at the Hannegan Branch post office on South Vandeventer to see how she likes her work and walking a postal route these hot days.

Gleason told KSDK's Chris Condon she liked working outside, had a run-in with a dog and encountered some opposition to her new role delivering mail.

Condon: "You run into anyone who doesn't like the idea of a female postman?
Gleason: Once in a while, one man told me he'd like a housekeeping job, since I had a man's job."
