Police are asking for the public's help in locating a man who attempted to rob a Moto-Mart on Saturday morning.

FAIRVIEW HEIGHTS, Ill. (KSDK) -- Police are asking for the public's help in locating a man who attempted to rob a Moto-Mart on Saturday morning.

According to a spokesperson for the Fairview Heights Police Department, the incident occurred just before 5 a.m. Saturday morning in the 6000 block of North Illinois Street.

Police said the suspect was wearing all black. He fled the scene on foot.

It is not clear if the man got away with anything from the store.

After the incident, Fairview Heights and O'Fallon police set-up a perimeter around the Moto-Mart to search for the suspect. Officers searched the area on foot and in patrol cars, but the suspect is still at large.
