Montgomery County (KSDK) - In some spots north and west of St. Louis, freezing rain made for some slick road conditions earlier today. Ice coated trees and signs along I-70 stretching from Warrenton to Danville. MODoT trucks were out throughout the morning laying down salt and chemicals. And NewsChannel 5 crews found several people chipping ice off their cars, including Mike Thompson, who left Columbia, Missouri early this morning to make the trip to Kentucky.

"I think I missed most of it because I'm going east. From what I understand, if I had stayed in Columbia or Independence I'd still be chipping out of here," said Mike.

There were no major accidents reported in our area Saturday morning because of the storm.
