Police are investigating after a shooting left two men in critical-stable condition after being shot overnight.

ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - Two men were critically injured early Sunday morning in a drive-by shooting that started on 18th and Market Streets in downtown St. Louis.

Police say the victims' vehicle was leaving a gas station in the 1600 block of S. Jefferson when someone in a black SUV started firing shots in its direction. The suspects followed the victims' vehicle to 10th Street and Olive, and continued shooting at their car.

A 23-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to his back, and a 27-year-old man was hit in his side. Both were transported to the hospital in critical/stable condition.

The suspect vehicle fled the scene, and no one is in custody.
