Coreen Savitski is excited to call the Show Me state home and thrilled to be back in the Midwest doing what she loves, keeping you in the know! Being part of the Show Me St. Louis team for NewsChannel 5 is a dream job for Coreen. She is a news junkie at heart, but at the end of the day, she loves to have fun and that's what Show Me St. Louis is all about.

Coreen worked at WMGT, the NBC station in Macon, Georgia for nearly five years before coming to NewsChannel 5. She started as a General Assignment Reporter in 2007. She was the Daybreak anchor for a couple of years before anchoring the station's three evening newscasts.

Coreen received her Broadcast/Journalism degree from Columbia College Chicago. She interned in London at CNBC Europe and worked as a production assistant at WFLD, the Fox affiliate in Chicago.

"People often ask me what the best part of my job is. That's easy! Everybody has a story to tell. Talking with people, listening to them, and being able to help viewers is a big perk of the job."

When Coreen isn't working, she's still living and breathing news. "I can't help but read and listen to everything and anything I can get my hands on." When she puts the news down, she likes spending time with her Yorkie, Holly, enjoying the outdoors or getting in a good workout. Traveling is her favorite thing in the world. "I love seeing new places, trying new foods and learning about different cultures."
