ST. LOUIS - For many people, the hustle and bustle of shopping doesn't stop after Christmas. The day after Christmas is a day to head back to the stores in search of a different size, color or simply to return.

It's not just about exchanging what you got for what you really want, but maybe also a chance to get a better deal. There are many stores with great sales to keep shoppers coming back.

But there are a few things to keep in mind before you head out, so be sure you check your store's return policy. Some have a different policy's in place for the holiday season and some remain the same.

For example, with Amazon, the online store will only take returns through Jan. 31, 2014 for any item bought between Nov. 1 and Dec. 31, 2013.

Do you have to head to Toys 'R Us? They have a new extended holiday return period for most items, until Jan. 26, but certain electronics must be returned within 30 days of purchase.

As for sales, retail analysts have stated that post-Christmas deals are better than ever, because of a slow shopping season. According to USA Today, sales growth this year is likely to be the weakest since the height of the recession in 2009.
