ST. LOUIS (KSDK) – After becoming an Internet sensation and national TV star for his "pancake art," Dr. Dan now hopes to strike it out on his own.

Dan Drake has created a Kickstarter fundraising campaign to open his own food truck, known as "The Dancake Van."

Drake became well-known in St. Louis for creating "pancake art" with faces, cartoons and whatever else you can imagine at the Courtesy Diner on Kingshighway. He quickly rose to regional and national fame after being profiled by NewsChannel 5 Heidi Glaus and on the TODAY show.

According to the campaign website, Drake wants to raise $15,000 in the next 40 days, and big donors will earn some special "dancake" merchandise. As of Tuesday morning, he had raised more than $1,300.
