ST. LOUIS (KSDK) – This year, the City of St. Louis will turn 250, and stl250 is hoping that it can set a new world record for bringing lovers together, too.
In honor of Valentine's Day and the St. Louis milestone, stl250 wants to invite 250 couples to become engaged or get re-engaged on Art Hill at the Burnin' Love Festival. According to the stl250 website, there is no world record for most engaged couples simultaneously, so they're hoping to set that record.
If couples register on the website, they have a chance to win one of several prizes, including a diamond engagement ring, a romantic dinner at Ruth's Chris Steak House-downtown, a custom-designed wedding cake from Wedding Wonderland or a donated party space rental from the Jewel Box in Forest Park.
The festival takes place at Art Hill in Forest Park, starting at 4:30 p.m. The "lovin' moment ceremony" will occur at 7:30 p.m.
The festival is a part of the birthday celebration for the city turning 250. The celebration continues throughout the year, and includes plans for a 250 exhibit at Missouri History Museum and a birthday ball Sunday.
