For six years, David Letterman has revealed the cover of the annual Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue.
But for this year, the 50th anniversary of the issue, Jimmy Kimmel will do the honors. He'll unveil the cover, revealing the identity of the 2014 cover model, tonight, Thursday on ABC (11:35 p.m. ET).
If Kate Upton is on the cover again, it'll be her third time in a row. Christie Brinkley was the first model to land three swimsuit covers in a row, from 1979-81. The New York Post has reported that Upton will be featured in a "zero gravity" space chamber spread, but no word on the coveted cover.
And on Monday, this year's Sports Illustrated swimsuit cover model will visit Jimmy Kimmel Live for an exclusive late-night interview.
SI has been showing some of the "rookies" who'll be featured in the issue, highlighting one a day.
Also expect to see 22 former SI swimsuit cover models in a Salute to the Legends of Swimsuit spread in the issue.
Carol Alt, Tyra Banks, Elsa Benitez, Christie Brinkley, Brooklyn Decker, Yamila Diaz-Rahi, Rachel Hunter, Kathy Ireland, Heidi Klum, Babette March, Marisa Miller, Carolyn Murphy, Petra Nemcova, Daniela Pestova, Paulina Porizkova, Bar Refaeli, Rebecca Romijn, Irina Shayk, Cheryl Tiegs, Kate Upton, Vendela and Veronica Varekova were brought together in New York City last fall for the largest one-time gathering of swimsuit cover models in history.
The 2014 Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue goes live across the web, mobile, tablet and newsstands on Feb. 18.
