ST. LOUIS – If you're like us, you're dreaming of warmer climates during this latest arctic blast, so we decided to see how far two adults can get away on a limited budget.
We found six destinations under $1,000 (and four just over $1,000) two St. Louisans can escape the winter blues.
1. Riu Palace Penninsula – Cancun
This deal through CheapCaribbean.com gets two adults to Mexico for four all-inclusive nights for $959.
2. Grand Bahia Principe Punta Cana – Dominican Republic
Expedia has a deal on this $964 three-day trip to Playa Bavaro, 30 minutes from the Punta Cana airport.
3. San Luis Resort – Galveston, Texas
For $179 per night, two adults can enjoy a trip to this luxurious spa resort along the Gulf of Mexico.
4. Sleep Inn on the Beach – Gulf Shores, Ala.
Four days is what you can get at this Orange Beach hotel for $491 per person, including flight, hotel, taxes, and fees.
5. Hutchinson Island Marriott Beach Resort & Marina – Stuart, Fla.
This 200-acre resort featuring a golf course and tennis courts offers rooms for $105 per night. It's only minutes from Jupiter, and 45 minutes from Palm Beach International Airport.
6. Live Aqua – Cancun
This all-inclusive adults-only getaway can be booked through Trip Advisor, which offers various deals.
1. Eden Roc – Miami Beach, Fla.
Luxurious bedding, four infinity-edge pools, ocean view dining, and beach activities will cost two adults $1,008 for three days, including flight.
2. Melia Caribe – Dominican Republic
Three days in the DR, including flight and hotel, will cost $1,075 for two people. Gratuities and taxes are included, along with pools, on-site yoga classes, theaters, children's programs and snorkeling.
3. Seven-night cruise – Western Caribbean
If you want to take a ride on the Celebrity Silhouette, which leaves from Ft. Lauderdale, tickets start at $549 per person.
4. Pelican Bay at Lucaya – Grand Bahama Island
Groupon is offering a four-night stay at a four-star hotel and airfare for $599.
