ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - Thousands lined 7th Street, cups in one hand -- beads flying into the other --- including some first timers.

"We come down every few months, but we made sure we were here for the weekend of the Mardi Gras and the parade," Tammy Thompson said.

It was Morgan Jones's bachelorette party. She's here from Louisville.

"Because it's fun," she said. "My sister lives here and I want to get turned up!"

For the restaurants and bars in Soulard, the parade and the after party are big business.

<tim Badock 1212> "It's a good day," Tim Badock said. "It's all weather-related really. If it's a nice warm day, of course the revenue is better."

Tim Badock owns Soulard's. He was worried that the winter storm that's on the way was going to keep potential customers away. But the people came!

"I think the people look forward to it," he said. "And with this horrible winter we've had, I think everybody's excited just to get outside."
