Fans of the Caped Crusader will return to Gotham City this year.

Warner Bros. confirmed it will publish Batman: Arkham Knight, the latest chapter in the company's stellar video game series in 2014 for PC, the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

A trailer released with Tuesday's announcements reveal several of the villains appearing in the game, including Penguin, Two-Face, Scarecrow and Harley Quinn.

Details on Arkham Knight are scant, but Warner Bros. confirms the game will feature a drivable Batmobile for the first time. The game is being developed by Rocksteady Studios, the team behind Batman: Arkham Asylum and sequel Batman: Arkham City.

The Batman franchise has become a big hit for Warner Bros. Interactive since its debut in 2009.

Rocksteady Studios game director Sefton Hill says this will be the "final chapter" of the Batman Arkham trilogy. Last year, Warner Bros. launched the prequel Batman: Arkham Origins.

"We're excited to be developing the game for next-gen platforms, which has allowed us to bring to life the design elements that we envisioned from the beginning such as the Batmobile and how it augments Batman's abilities, to the fully detailed and realized Gotham City," said Hill in a statement.
