Chris Pine, known for playing Captain Kirk in updated Star Trek movies, has been charged with driving under the influence in New Zealand.
He's due in court on Monday, officials told AP on Wednesday.
Local police say Pine, 33, who has been in New Zealand filming the movie Z for Zachariah with Margot Robbie, was charged with driving with a blood-alcohol level over the legal limit on March 1. He was stopped during an early morning check near the town of Methven.
Casey Crawford, manager of the Blue Pub in Methven tells Christchurch, New Zealand, newspaper The Press that Pine was at a wrap party for the movie at the bar on the night of Feb. 28. He was with his girlfriend, model Iris Bjork Johannesdottir. There were about 80 cast and crew members at the party.
Pine was drinking beer and did not appear intoxicated before leaving at about 2:30 a.m., Crawford said.
"He looked like he just wanted to spend time with his partner," Crawford told the newspaper.
Pine's agent and publicist could not be reached for comment.
