Savannah Guthrie had a very busy weekend.
NBC's Today show anchor, 42, and Michael Feldman, 45, a communications strategist, tied the knot Saturday near her hometown of Tucson, "in the middle of the desert," in a hush-hush wedding, she said on the Today show Monday morning.
As she reminded guests to keep the nuptials quiet so that she could announce it on Monday's show, the DJ cued the music for a recording of the NBC News "Special Report" music.
Taking a spot in front of the guests, she and her new hubby, announced, "We are four months pregnant!"
Matt Lauer said it was his "favorite" moment of the weekend.
"I did drop a little bit of news at the weekend," said a beaming Guthrie on Monday morning.
"We are so excited, overjoyed and feel so blessed," she said, adding, "It's funny. We set the wedding date, I bought my dress, and then I found out."
Natalie Morales noted that people in the room were jumping up and down.
Guthrie said, "I feel great, and actually I'm so happy to tell the world. Because I can't suck in this gut anymore."
The baby's coming in "late summer."
