They wed in a civil ceremony in 2011, and now Olympic star Johnny Weir says he and lawyer husband Victor Voronov are calling it quits.
"It is with great sadness that I announce that my husband and I are no longer together," the former Olympic figure skater turned announcer tweeted Wednesday. "My heart hurts, and I wish him well."
Victor did not sound quite as chipper, tweeting, "Shocked by the abrupt ending of my marriage and am dealing with the trauma including multiple things I am just now becoming aware of..."
When Weir married Voronov in New York, he called their wedding"the greatest moment in my life." Both men had changed their last names to Weir-Voronov, but Weir has already changed his Twitter, dropping the Voronov.
Earlier this month, Radar Online reported the couple appeared in a New Jersey court after Voronov accused Weir of biting him during a domestic dispute. A judge dismissed the case at their request March 5.
Weir later tweeted: "No matter what, I am a cheerleader of love and partnership and creation. I am sad yet I am thankful that I was loved and that I could love."
