ST. LOUIS (KSDK) – NewsChannel 5's Mike Bush served as emcee for Sunday night's Big Brothers, Big Sisters Big Event at the Renaissance Grand Hotel.

The local chapter is celebrating their 100th year of making a difference in our community, and Sunday was a chance to say thank you to all the volunteers who make it possible.

Nevertheless, challenges lie ahead.

"The number one challenge we have is that we have 1,000 kids chronically waiting for a big brother or big sister," Becky James-Hatter said. "And if someone, whether it's a big brother or big sister or married couple would just step forward, we can not only change a little life, but it will change your life as well."

Active Little Brothers and Little Sisters will host the first official agency clothing drive this May. We'll have more details as they become available.
