ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - Alex Trebek's mid-game interviews with players on 'Jeopardy' is typically banal conversation. On rare occasions, a contestant provides an amusing or awkward anecdote certain to stick in viewers' minds.

On Wednesday's episode of 'Jeopardy,' the interview segment took on an incredibly uncomfortable vibe, thanks to Saint Louis University graduate Tom Kavanaugh.

Kavanaugh, a former 'Jeopardy' champion appearing on the show's Battle of the Decades, told Trebek that if he won the tournament, he would use the money to produce a documentary on sweatshop labor in the United States.

"Maybe you can find out the names of the eight-year-olds who made your fancy suit there, Alex," Kavanaugh said.

Trebek winced and a mixture of short laughs and dramatic sighs filtered over the audience.

"What? Too low? Was that a low blow," Kavanaugh said, looking around for support.
