CHATHAM, Mass. (WHDH) – There was no horsing around when Norton the mini-horse found himself trapped in a mini sinkhole in Brandon Nickerson's backyard.

"I said 'you're in a hole' and I started to hyperventilate and you know, shake, and my eye was thumping," Brenda Nickerson, Norton's owner, said.

She tried to call animal control, but she couldn't remember the number, so she called the Chatham Fire Department.

"It's interesting. It's something that doesn't happen often," Nick Ruggiere from the Chatham Fire Department said.

When the fire department arrived, they found Norton inside that hole, and they had to find a way to get him out of the hole…so they had to get creative.
