Katy Perry gave her best Roar at the White House on Thursday night.
The singer was in Washington, D.C., to help honor the 46th anniversary of the Special Olympics and its founder, Eunice Shriver, much to the delight of President Obama.
Perry is "one of my favorite people," Obama said in opening remarks. "She is just a wonderful person. I just met her mom, now I know why she's such a wonderful person."
Perry's mother (pictured on her daughter's right), a noted conservative who raised Perry and her siblings as strict evangelical Christians, got the OK this time from her daughter to attend the event. (Perry, a Democrat, had refused to let her mother or father attend Obama's inauguration to watch her sing in 2012.)
The 29 year old looked stunning in a full-length sequined blue gown.
The White House gig is just one stop for the busy Perry as she treks around on her Prismatic Tour. She also just released the video for her latest single, This Is How We Do.
