More drama. A lot more tears. And a couple of meltdowns.
Episode three of True Tori on Tuesday continued to follow Tori Spelling and her hubby Dean McDermott in the wake of his affair last December. He was in rehab for three months. And now he's back home.
We start with Tori showing off her side tattoo of the vows Dean wrote for their wedding seven years ago.
And then we see Tori getting ready for a charity event by "my friend Jennie Garth." A 90210 mini-reunion! Dean will stay home with the four kids. He tells her he "loves" her white shoes as she's leaving.
Tori is "relishing" the fact she is out for the first time in months. She and Jennie say hi, but that's about it.
The next day, Tori and Dean go to couple's therapy and here's where the drama really heats up. It's time for Tori to ask Dean what exactly happened. He explains that he went to a bar. "Emily was there. ... I wasn't attracted to her. It was just like a warm body. I felt like I was on autopilot."
Then he brings up their sex life. "We have four kids. In the sex department there are ebbs and flows. ... Do I always want more with you?" he tells Tori. "Absolutely. Every day all day. I'm insatiable. Do I want more? Yeah. She has complications from the last pregnancy. Our sex life wasn't awful, but it wasn't stellar."
So does that mean he can go have sex with someone else?
Tori points out that they had sex the weekend before his affair!
Oh. Well. He admits that cheating was "his worst nightmare."
Or, Tori asks, was his worst nightmare the fact that he got caught?
"I don't know," he says, defeated. "If there's ever a perfect person, she's pretty damn close to it," he says, then calls himself a "monster" and "evil."
Tori says, "Our sex life was never enough." In the beginning, she says, they had sex "multiple times a day," and then they had four kids. "It was never enough for you! I wore that guilt all the time thinking he's going to cheat on me. I can never give you enough sex."
Dean points out that he wasn't demanding; they even "pushed it to a month of going without sex sometimes."
Crying, Tori says, "I thought you were really happy with me. ... This really makes me feel bad about myself." She sobs, and we can't understand all that she's saying, but it's a sad moment.
Dean then complains: "I hear once in a while, 'You look handsome.' Every day I tell you I love you and how beautiful you look. I don't feel like you think I'm the cat's a---. I feel like a fat ---, small ---, zits on my back, piece of ---."
Says the therapist: "You're both completely insecure!"
She gives them homework — write each other a letter.
Tori goes out on Saturday morning to hang with her girlfriends and then has a meeting about her new show, Mystery Girls. Dean's friend, Wolf, comes over to hang out at the house. "Why did you jeopardize everything?" he asks Dean.
"'Cause I didn't think that I would get caught," Dean says. "I was drinking and eating drugs, man. I have a brain that wants me dead." He adds, "I need to change. I am on the verge of losing everything."
Dean explains that he was in the UCLA psych ward. "I wanted to die. I wanted to take my life."
Finally, Dean pulls out a pen and paper and starts writing his letter. "There's not enough 'sorrys' in the world to undo what I did or make T feel better."
Tori sits in bed trying to write her letter. "I feel like I don't know where to begin."
As they gather in the kitchen with the kids to eat wings, Tori says, "Everything looks normal on the surface, but it's not."
Later, they start to argue about the kids being in their bed, and he tells her, "I'd like my bed back."
At their next therapy session, Tori discusses her letter to Dean. She talks about their love story, not her anger. The therapist calls her on it.
Dean has written that he's sorry, but Tori says she doesn't think he is showing any remorse. As she starts to point out that she was at a Christmas event when this all happened, Dean acts like his head his splitting. He closes his eyes, puts his hands over his eyes. His foot his jiggling.
"He can't handle it," says Tori. "I don't trust that this is OK at all. We have to stop." What's happening to him!? Stay tuned ...
