The St. Louis area was under a tornado watch for several hours Sunday night.

Straight-line winds, large hail, and a slight risk for rotation will hit the St. Louis area around 8 p.m.
There have been several reports of lightning strikes in the area.
A house was struck by lightning on Stanford Avenue in University City. Damage was electrical, and a fire did not start.
Lightning also split a tree, which caused it to fall on a home in O'Fallon, Missouri. There's no word on any injuries.
Ameren is reporting several areas west of St. Louis are without power. There areover 7,000 customers without power in Cottleville, Weldon Spring, Defiance, Dardenne Prairie, O'Fallon, St. Charles, Florissant, Oakville, and Arnold.
There's no word on when power may be restored.
Wind gusts in the Chesterfield area are reaching close to 60 miles per hour.
