(KSDK) -- A cell phone helped save the life of a man, who ended up in the Mississippi River afternoon.
The man was boating near West Alton, when he got caught in the wake of a boat or a barge. The wave flipped his boat and tossed him into the water.
Wet and clinging to his boat, the man used his cell phone to call 911.
Rescuers pulled him from the water and took him to a hospital where he's being treated for hypothermia.
