St. Louis County, Mo (KSDK) -- A Bismark man involved in a standoff with police Thursday has been charged in the case and in another incident.

St. Louis County police said prosecutors charged Zachary Clampitt, 23, with assault, resisting arrest, resisting a lawful stop and property damage. He was jailed on a $50,000 bond.

Police said a St. Louis County officer stopped Clampitt for a traffic violation on May 19. He allegedly drove off, hit a gate at an apartment complex and rammed a police vehicle.

Police attempted to serve Clampitt with a warrant at the Motel 6 at Lindberth and Interstate 55 Thursday morning. Police called in the SWAT team and he surrendered peacefully that afternoon.
