St. Louis (KSDK) - It happened during a picnic around 8:30 p.m. Friday on Wells just off of Skinker in Forest Park.

A group of about 200 people from Pine Lawn were gathered to celebrate turning the community around when someone showed a gun, and people in a car fired multiple shots.

"I'm telling you today, you need to give up the things you are doing. We are losing too many lives from that community. You had no right to come here and do this," said organizer Angele Isaac.

Police say nobody was hurt, but Isaac apologized for bringing this event to St. Louis.

Pine Lawn officials had refused to allow the event for fear of violence.
