St. Louis (KSDK) -- The women will took their turn at the VISA Championships on day two of competition at Chaifetz Arena.

The women are competing for a trip to the Olympic trials. Then, five women will be selected to represent the United States in London next month.

David Durante, an alternate for the 2008 Olympic gymnastics team, has been following the competition and believes there is a wide variety of women who could represent the United States. He said there are three women competing from the 2008 team to earn a spot, including Nastia Liukin. There are the superstars from the 2011 World Championship team and the young guns who barely made the age requirements, who will also be competi,ng.

Durante believes Liukin has a good shot at making the team. She competed Friday night in beam and bars and he thinks she will need to finish in the top threeto show the selection committee she deserves a spot.

The 2011 All-Around World Champion Jordyn Wieber is one to watch compete, according to Durante. He believes if she makes the team, she will be the anchor and face of the team.
