Winfield, Mo (KSDK) -- A Winfield man rescued from his burning home Friday faces charges.

Prosecutors charged Elijah Wisniewski with sexual assault.

Winfield police officer R. Eaton was on patrol around 10:45 p.m. Friday when she noticed flames shooting from the back of a home on Sandra Way.

Two other police officers, Marc McCollister of the Winfield Police Department and Foley police officer Brian Richardson, arrived before firefighters and rushed inside the burning building.

Once inside, they found Wisniewski sleeping in a bedroom.

He was not injured. No one else was home at the time of the fire.

The bond for Wisniewski was set at $50,000.
