St. Louis, MO (KSDK) - A new steel-frame canopy is being constructed around the perimeter Kilroy's Bar, nearly two months after a fatal tent collapse.

Construction on the project started about a week ago. Contractors said the entirety of the new canopy will be made out of metal.

In April, 58-year-old Alfred Goodman died after winds from a strong storm knocked over a tent. Family members have since filed a wrongful death suit against the bar.

About a hundred others were injured in the accident.

"I don't know if this has anything to do with the tent, but the weather is not going knock this down," said Jason Unwin, project foreman at the construction site.

Workers said the owners want the project finished by Friday.
