St. Louis (KSDK) -- Cool Down St. Louis got some much needed assistance from the Home State Health Plan of Clayton.
The organization gave Cool Down 25 brand new air conditioners and a $20,000 donation.
Cool Down St. Louis offers utility assistance and more with the goal of keeping the number of serious heat-related illnesses and deaths down this summer.
In the past several days, Cool Down St. Louis has received more than 2,500 requests for help.
If you have a new or gently used air conditioner or would like to make a donation to the charity, you can do so at any Vatterott College location.
