Florissant, MO (KSDK) - Florissant Police are looking for the man who stole a bank bag from a Salvation Army store clerk in the parking lot of the store in the Paddock Hills Plaza shopping center Tuesday night.

Investigators say the woman had locked the business for the night and was in her vehicle with the day's receipts when she saw a person in the lot she thought she recognized.

The clerk drove to the man and engaged him in conversation before realizing she didn't know him. The suspect then grabbed the bank bag from the woman's car and ran from the lot.

The victim gave chase for a time before thebandit got away. He was described as a black man in his mid twenties with a medium build.

Salvation Army Major Kendall Matthews says the bank bag had more than $1400 in it, and the loss is devastating to the organization.
