Hermann, MO (KSDK) - The former band director of the Gasconade County R-1 School District has pleaded guilty to a charge of furnishing pornographic material to a minor and was ordered to serve 15 days in the county jail.
Along with the 'shock' incarceration; Joshua James, 32 of Herman will also serve two years of supervised probation for his guilty plea.
The punishment comes in lieu of a one year county jail term that was suspended if James can successfully fulfill the obligations of his probation.
James was arrested in June 2011 after investigators say he was having inappropriate contact with a 16 year old student. The police investigation uncovered numerous emails between James and the student including several where James allegedly enticed the young girl to send photos of herself.
Previous documents indicated the student sent James graphic videos and photos of herself in exchange for a similar image of himself.
James spent nearly seven years in the Gasconade County District prior to his departure when the criminal charges were filed against him.
