Godfrey, IL (KSDK) -A Godfrey fire damaged two businesses Thursday morning.

Flames on the roof of the building were visible in the 5400 block of Godfrey Road around 4 a.m.

The building houses Duke's Bakery and the Round Table Family Restaurant.

Fire officials believe the fire started in a cooler in the restaurant.

Firefighters cut a hole in the roof to prevent the fire from spreading to Duke's.

The Duke's Bakery branch has been open since 2003 and is the company's secondary location. All of the production is done at the Alton location, so the fire will not impact people's orders.

The bakery's Alton location brought a van full of baked goods to the Godfrey fire scene to feed the firefighters.

The restaurant has fire damage and the bakery has water and smoke damage.
