St. Louis (KSDK) - Two men are in police custody this morning after they stole a car from a couple watching the river on Leonore K. Sullivan Boulevard early Tuesday, then shot one of the two victims of the carjacking.
Police say just before 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, a pick-up truck pulled up to the couple near the south leg of the Arch and told the man and woman to get out of the car.
One of the two carjackers then got into the car and drove away while the second man pulled a gun and shot the male victim in the hand and shoulder before speeding away in the pick-up.
Police arrived and had paramedics transport the injured victim to the hospital where he's listed in stable condition.
About ninety minutes later, police in Brooklyn located the stolen car and arrested two men on St. Clair Avenue at Interstate 64. Those two men were transported to jail pending the filing of charges in the investigation.
