Franklin County, MO (KSDK) - Franklin County deputies are investigating after a 41-year-old man was stabbed at his home in the 200 block of Wild Turkey Lane in Londell Wednesday night.
The Franklin County Sheriff's Department says they responded to the home around 11 p.m. after receiving a call about a stabbing.
The man told police he had been stabbed by his wife, who was incoherent. A witness to the situation said methamphetamine had been used during the evening.
The investigation revealed other people had been at the home and left. They initially thought a child was missing, but it was later determined the child had been removed by people who left the home before deputies arrived. There were other children in the home at the time of the stabbing.
The victim had a severe stab wound to his upper leg and had other injuries to his stomach area. It is unknown how he sustained those injuries.
The man was taken to a St. Louis hospital for treatment.
Authorities believe there was a physical altercation between the husband, wife, and possibly others which resulted in the stabbing.
The 29-year-old wife was taken into custody for assault.
Deputies are still looking for others who were either involved or witnessed the incident.
The children were not physically harmed.
The wife's name has not been released because charges have not been filed.
