St. Louis, MO (KSDK) - Parents across the country have a chance to weigh in on major changes to the school lunch program.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture and the National Parent Teacher Association is hosting a nationwide webcast to talk about the Kids' Safe and Healthful Foods Project.

The USDA put new nutrition standards for schools in place this year. Kids can now have one fruit and once vegetable every day, more whole grains and only fat-free or low-fat milk.

More attention is also being paid to portion control, saturated fat, trans-fats and sugar and sodium.

The webcast starts Thursday at 7 p.m. You can watchit on the Kids Safe and Healthful Foods Project website.
