North St. Louis (KSDK) - Police say several parked vehicles were damaged by an out of control car that slammed into them in north St. Louis overnight.

Authorities responded to the accident scene around 1030 p.m. Thursday after witnesses said two vehicles was speeding along eastbound Dr. Martin Luther King Drive. One of the vehicles turned onto a side street, the second vehicle continued eastbound until losing control just west of Kingshighway.

That's where the out of control car crashed into multiple parked vehicles along Dr. King Drive. The driver invovled then ran from the crash scene but was arrested by police a short time later.

Police have not confirmed any officers were chasing the speeding car prior to the crash.
