St. Louis (KSDK) -- The Missouri Department of Transportation will close the westbound I-70 ramp to Madison for six weeks in downtown St. Louis.
The closure begins Wednesday after the evening rush.
Crews will be relocating the ramp as part of the Missouri I-70 interchange project which is part of the new Mississippi River Bridge.
Crews will close lanes on eastbound and westbound I-70 over the next week to move barriers along the interstate for the project. The currently planned closures are:
Thursday, October 25 - two lanes on westbound I-70 from Biddle to Madison will be closed from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Friday, October 26 - two lanes on eastbound I-70 from Salisbury to Howard will be closed from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. All lanes will reopen Saturday morning, including the lane on eastbound I-70 which has been closed since late last year. The ramp from 11th Street onto eastbound I-70 should also reopen.
Tuesday, October 30-Friday, November 2 - Up to two lanes on westbound I-70 from Biddle to Madison will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. daily. In addition, up to two lanes will be closed on eastbound I-70 from Salisbury to Howard from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. daily.
