Wildwood, MO (KSDK) - Tonight a Wildwood woman has a highway survival story to tell after a bizarre accident.
Wednesday morning Tracy Gibson was traveling on southbound Interstate 55 headed toward Festus when a board from a truck came through the windshield of her car.
It went all the way through the back window, but missed Gibson. She was not injured, she just had some shattered glass in her mouth and in her clothes.
"I just remember seeing the shrink wrap fly up into the air and thinking immediately I wanted to get away from the truck but I was looking was watching I saw something fly out really high up into the air I leaned forward to look at it thought it was a piece of cardboard and then before I could even react it just felt like lightning struck my car," said Gibson.
She pulled over on the interstate and called 911.
A police officer came and helped her out of her car.
