St. Louis (KSDK) - A 27-year-old woman was shot in the face during a purse snatching Wednesday morning and police think the suspect may be related to other shootings in the area.
St. Louis police said the woman was walking to her car in the 1600 block of S. Spring when a man ran up to her and grabbed her purse around 12:55 a.m.
The man shot her in the face and then ran from the scene.
The victim was taken to an area hospital in critical condition.
Police describe the suspect as a black male in his mid-20s, standing around 6'0" with dreadlocks, and wearing a dark jacket. A composite sketch of the suspect was released and can be seen to the left of this story.
The suspect in this case matches the description of the suspect in two other shootings in the area this month.

Once the suspect obtained the victims' property, he told them to run. As the victims were running, the suspect fired multiple shots, striking the man in the right hand and left leg.
The second incident happened at 9:50 p.m. October 16 in the 3400 block of Russell when a 20-year-old woman was robbed at gunpoint.
The suspect took the woman's cell phone and tablet computer and then shot her in the left arm and left cheek.
