St. Louis (KSDK) - Saint Louis University spokesperson Clayton Berry has confirmed the SLU Board of Trustees has announced they will hire an outside consulting firm to survey students, faculty, and staff about issues that led to the "no confidence" votes by faculty and students earlier this week.

On Tuesday afternoon the Faculty Senatetook a "no confidence" vote against the school's president, Reverend Lawrence Biondi.

This was the second "no confidence" vote taken against Fr. Biondi in recent days. It's in response to a controversial and short-lived proposal to revamp the university's tenure system.

The vote came a few hours after students staged a sit-in, calling for the resignation of Fr. Biondi.

Before Tuesday's vote, Fr. Biondi sent out astatement saying many facts are being distorted.

The following is a statement from the SLU Board of Trustees:
"The Saint Louis University Board of Trustees is aware of the actions taken by the University Faculty Senate and the Student Government Association. The Board of Trustees Executive Committee, acting upon the recommendation from Fr. Biondi, has decided to engage an external, independent consulting firm to conduct an extensive survey of Saint Louis University students, faculty, staff and other constituencies concerning the issues that have led to the recent faculty and student resolutions. It is hoped that this survey can be initiated and concluded in the immediate future."
